The Bootie Purchased Round the World
Our number one job as stylists is to create ease and versatility in our clients’ wardrobes. We work with hundreds of women and go that extra mile to find them easy-to-wear and comfortable pieces that transition well.
For the past 10 years…yes, 10 years…the ankle boot is the shoe that women keep purchasing. They add that youthful edge to any look, and are more versatile than many people realize.
One pair of booties we have selected time and time again for our clients over the past two years is the Vince Camuto “Lavette” bootie.
The magic of these boots is they marry comfort and style. It’s like the unicorn of fashion when you can get a cute pair of shoes that are also endlessly comfortable! The perforated leather moves with your foot instead of constricting. And who doesn’t love a block heel? It’s a trend that is also practical. The block heel distributes weight and pressure, supporting your feet and keeping you comfortable longer.
They also have a super-easy, adjustable velcro strap, which allows them to fit different ankle sizes. They come in a variety of colors, but we have been buying them in the “beige” because it blends with a variety of skin tones, lengthening your leg line.
The feedback has been unanimous: our clients wear these more than any other shoes because of the comfort and versatility. Here are three ways we styled some of our clients in our favorite bootie:
Look 1
Pair with a streamlined blazer and skinny pants to add a fun, youthful feel to a business casual look. Hem or tuck your pants so they rest at the top of the bootie. Don’t tuck skinny jeans in ankle boots. It makes for an awkward finish to your look.
Look 2
These boots are perfect with a dress. For this client, who was used to pairing her ladylike silk dresses with pumps, the Lavette grounded her look. Immediately the dress went from just-for-weddings to for-weekend-nights-out-too. A good rule of thumb: keep your dress right above your knee when pairing with an ankle boot. This will lengthen your leg line.
Look 3
We love that these boots are great in the middle of summer too. Pair with white jeans and a bold top for a fun date night look! Showing that bit of ankle is a great warm-weather way to style these booties.
