Can’t Stop Wearing…

my denim sleeveless jacket. i’ve had it forever-and-a-day. wear it nonstop during the spring and now finding it to be the perfect transition piece to fall. all my tanks, tees, summer dresses and even shorts will get a little more wear with this layering piece. once it gets  cooler, i plan to button it up and wear it under my grey tweed blazer with skinnies and boots. perfect weekend wear (or in the case, meet-with-clients wear).

and this ensemble? my favorite because:

a.) half of it is pajamas

b.) the other half has an elastic waistband. that’s right - elastic.

’nuff said.

Can’t Stop Wearing…

lace t-shirts. i got this one from madewell and it gets the most play, but i also have a red one (pictured below), a cream one, and a neon yellow/green one. they are all machine washable (gentle) so even on days i am running around with children, i can still feel femine wearing a lace tee with a cami underneath. and night out? black lace tee with white tuxedo jacket, cropped skinny jeans and killer pumps.

my favorite way to wear a lace tee is with a contrasting-color tank underneath. i like the black and white in particular because the beater tank has a tomboyish feel about it — a fun contrast with the black lace, which feels pretty. and naughty.

p.s. my daughter took these pictures. and she’s seven.

Can’t Stop Wearing…

My polka-dotted Equipment blouse. Obsessed. I’ve worn it three days this week.
- First with my J. Crew denim sleeveless jacket, Levi’s railroad striped jeans and yellow pointy-toe flats.
- Second tucked into wide-leg Gap trouser jeans with gold belt and platforms.
- Third is pictured: J. Crew Minnie cropped pant, pastel mint green Zara blazer, white tank top from The Gap, and Chie Mihara open-toe booties.

What item of clothing are you wearing nonstop these days?

You Can Wear a Trashbag if You Carry This…

Marni Balloon Tote Bag

DC Style Factory Tip #321: Invest in a statement bag. If you’re going to spend oodles of money on something, make it an iconic purse. You can literally wear sweatpants with elastic around the ankles pulled up to your chest. If you leave your house with a Berkin…all is forgiven. Need some ideas? This is a pretty good list to start
