The Stylist Studio
We are thrilled to announce that DC Style Factory is partnering with another premier DC styling agency, Real Life Style for The Stylist Studio — a two-day intensive, interactive training program for up-and-coming personal stylists. This professional development program is designed to educate and launch personal stylists in their careers working one-on-one with clients and as business owners.
With a combined 30 years in fashion and personal styling plus hundreds of clients in the DC and NY metro areas, both of us have traversed the challenges, successes and failures of creating our own personal styling businesses. As you can imagine, we both field regular requests from people interested in learning how we became personal stylists and how they can do the same. We decided to develop a training program to meet this need and The Stylist Studio was born!
The training will have two modules:
1. Personal Styling and The Client Relationship
2. The Business of Personal Styling: Entrepreneurship 101
Both trainings will take place at leading local retailers Betsy Fisher and Kit and Ace so you will receive hands-on personal style training in dynamic, fashionable environments. You will also receive the basics of starting and developing your own business. Should you be an LLC or sole proprietor? How do you develop your services and reputation? Who is your ideal client? How do you market your services? How much should you charge? These topics will be covered in person during the training and in the training
We have developed this training to give you all the nuts and bolts to start your own personal styling business. To this end, we are limiting attendance to 10 students so that each student can be sure to receive the highest level of training. To secure a spot, we are accepting a non-refundable $200 deposit at this time. Refer a friend and we will reduce your final invoice by $100!
The training will also provide specifics on building a business from the ground up. Rosana and Lani will answer questions like:
- Should you form an LLC or sole proprietorship?
- How do you develop your services and reputation?
- How do you identify and connect with your ideal client?
- How do you market your services?
- How much should you charge?
In order to allow for personal time with Lani and Rosana, the The Stylist Studio is limited to 10 students per session. If you have any questions and to receive an application, please feel free to email Rosana at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Next Stylist Studio session:
Date: Saturday, January 14th and Sunday, January 15th, 2017 (Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend)
Tuition: $1,500 with $200 deposit to register.
We are thrilled to be able to share our knowledge with new and aspiring stylists! If you love personal styling, now’s your time to learn what it takes!
